Event FAQs

The Community Walk for Breast Cancer is an annual event benefiting the Miles of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation. Our first Walk in 2003 was created to bring awareness to the need for breast cancer support programs in our region.  To this day, Miles of Hope is the only Breast Cancer Foundation where all of the money raised stays in the Hudson Valley.  This money directly funds support services, education and outreach to our families, friends, neighbors, and colleagues whose lives have been affected by breast cancer.  The Walk is not only a fundraiser, but an opportunity to walk in honor of, in memory of and in support of friends and loved ones.

We will host our 2024 Community Walk on Sunday, October 6, at James Baird State Park, rain or shine. Opening ceremonies will begin at 9:30am, Walk to begin at 10:00 am.

There is nothing like being together, honoring our friends, our family and all those who have been affected by breast cancer, but to those who can not be with us at the park, you are welcome to participate as well! Anyone can join the event and walk wherever you are! In addition, we challenge you to stay active and maintain a healthy lifestyle and reduce your cancer risk by exercising every day. Walk in Honor or Memory of someone, challenge yourself, your family, your friends and promote a lifetime of good health.
